Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways

Course Overview
This full qualification covers 14 accredited units of competency that support learners in upskilling in core skills of Learning, Reading, Writing, Numeracy, Oral Communication, and Digital Literacy. The qualification aims to equip learners with the skills and confidence to undertake other accredited training, or to enter/re-enter the workforce. Learners may be required to undertake the full qualification if it was identified through the Upfront Assessment of Needs (UAN) process. The UAN is administered through the Core Skills Profile for Adults' (CSPA) language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) assessment and is a requirement for learners to access subsidised training.

Course Content
Learners may undertake the full qualification which consists of the following units of competency:

FSKLRG011 Use routine strategies for work-related learning

Elective Units

FSKDIG003 Use digital technology for non-routine workplace tasks
FSKLRG009 Use strategies to respond to routine workplace problems
FSKLRG010 Use routine strategies for career planning
FSKNUM014 Calculate with whole numbers and familiar fractions, decimals and percentages for work
FSKNUM015 Estimate, measure and calculate with routine metric measurements for work
FSKNUM018 Collect data and construct routine tables and graphs for work
FSKNUM019 Interpret routine tables, graphs and charts and use information and data for work
FSKOCM007 Interact effectively with others at work
FSKRDG010 Read and respond to routine workplace information
FSKWTG009 Write routine workplace texts
BSBPEF202 Plan and apply time management
BSBTEC101 Operate digital devices
BSBTEC203 Research using the internet

Specific bridging units of competency may also have been selected for the learner by a LLN specialist in the UAN process where it is found that the full qualification is not necessary. Please enquire with us regarding the bridging units that we deliver for learners under this qualification.

Cost
  • Free. This course is supported by the Government of South Australia.
Pathways
  • On successful completion of assessment requirements, the learner will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the completed units of competency if only selected units have been completed. If learners complete the full qualification, then they will be issued with the full Certificate in FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways.
 
Delivery
  • Program duration for the full qualification is 6-12 months
  • Delivery involves a combination of face-to-face workshops and online learning
 
Entry Requirements/Pre-requisites
You must be studying a primary qualification with an RTO and have been identified as requiring bridging units or the full qualification from undertaking the CSPA.
All learners must provide their USI upon enrolment.
All participants of the course must provide a valid photo identification on enrolment that includes the following information: full name, photo, and residential address. Any missing information would require additional supporting documentation.
