Course Overview
SIT30622 Certificate III in HospitalityThis nationally recognised course will support your pathway to employment in restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, catering, and cafes. Learn about food hygiene, customer service, coffee making, food and drinks, and processing financial transactions. You will gain a diverse range of skills suitable to the hospitality industry.
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have a range of well-developed hospitality service, sales or operational skills and sound knowledge of industry operations. Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.

Cost
Fee for Service: $1,300.00 total.$650 for Semester 1 – 50% of the units, invoiced on enrolment.
$650 for Semester 2 for the remaining 50% units, invoiced on completion of semester 1 units.
Delivery
Duration: 12 months duration / Part time and full-time study options availableDelivery Mode: Online / Self-Paced – combined with onsite practical assessment components in a simulated workplace environment
This course is self-paced and allows students to work through learning and assessment activities to meet their schedule requirements. During enrolment, students will discuss and agree to time commitments to their study with SYC.
Entry Requirements/Pre-requisites
● Must be 15 years of age or older.● Learners must be 17 years of age or older at the time of completing SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol
● Learners must demonstrate the ability to understand and use basic Language, Literacy and Numeracy.
● All learners must provide their USI upon enrolment.
● All participants of the course must provide at least one form of photo identification
There are currently no entry level requirements for this course. However, the unit SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol enables the learner to serve alcohol, which by law requires the person to be over 18 years old. Therefore, it is an internal SYC requirement that the learner must be 17 years old when completing SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol so that their competency will remain current when entering the workforce within the following 12 months.
SYC is approved to deliver SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol in a face-to-face setting only in South Australia.
Inhouse Student Support
SYC identifies individual support requirements during the initial intake/enrolment process. During your course, your trainer/assessor will provide based on your requirements. SYC also can provide additional support for LLND, language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy skills where identified during initial intake processes, or during your course.Our students are encouraged to seek support and discuss their learning needs and requirements with their trainer and assessor so that the right support strategies are put in place for the best possibility learning outcome.
Accreditation and Employment Pathways
AccreditationOn successful completion of all assessment requirements, the student will be issued with a Full Certificate in SIT30622 Certificate III in Hospitality.
Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
Employment Pathways
This qualification provides a pathway to work in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, motels, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops.
This qualification allows for multiskilling and for specialisation in accommodation services, food and beverage and gaming.
