Course Overview
This extended coffee course provides you with the knowledge and skills to make a variety of coffee beverages such as latte, cappuccino, mocha, macchiato, and long black.
You will learn the entire coffee making process from bean to cup, operate commercial coffee machines and grinders, and present coffee to industry standards. You will also gain customer service and financial transaction skills, an important skill set for any aspiring barista.

SITXFIN007 Process financial transactions

Accreditation and Employment Pathways
On successful completion of all assessment requirements, the student will be issued with a Statement of Attainment (SOA) for SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety, SITHFAB025 Prepare and serve espresso coffee, SITXCCS014 Provide service to customers & SITXFIN007 Process financial transactions.
This accreditation is designed to prepare for entry level skills and knowledge for roles such as Barista and Cafe Attendant completing financial transactions and delivering services directly to customers.
Entry Requirements/Pre-requisites
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
- Learners must demonstrate the ability to understand and use basic Language, Literacy and Numeracy.
- All learners must provide their USI upon enrolment.
- All participants of the course must provide 100 points of identification with at least 1 for of photo identification
