Responsible service of alcohol

Course Overview

SITSS00071 Responsible service of alcohol

This course will provide you with the skills and ability to serve alcohol in a licensed premise in South Australia. You will be able to work in a role that involves the sale and supply of liquor, such as in cafes, restaurants, bottle shops, or cellar doors. You must be at least 17 years old to complete an RSA. This course can be combined with our barista or food safety supervision course to prepare you for any hospitality setting.

Responsible practices must be undertaken wherever alcohol is sold, served or supplied, including where alcohol samples are served during on-site product tastings. This unit therefore applies to any workplace where alcohol is sold, served or supplied, including all types of hospitality venues, packaged liquor outlets and wineries, breweries and distilleries.

The unit incorporates the knowledge requirements under South Australian legislation for employees engaged in the sale, service or supply of alcohol.
