FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways (SYC Studio East ONLY)

Course Overview
This program includes individual units of competency from the Foundation Skills (FSK) Training Package to support students with identified gaps from an Upfront Assessment of Needs (UAN). The UAN is administered through the Core Skills Profile for Adults' (CSPA) language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) assessment and is a requirement for students to access subsidised training. A LLN specialist will interpret the results of the assessment and students are assigned specific units of competency to support their learning needs. Students are not completing a full qualification.

Course Content
Students undertaking this course will be assigned a number of FSK units of competency based on their CSPA results.
Students can expect to develop competency skills and knowledge including:
  • Reading and interpreting workplace information and documentation
  • Writing workplace texts
  • Numeracy skills for measuring and calculating
  • Digital literacy skills such as Microsoft Office, using aXcelerate learning platform, etc.

Cost
  • Free. This course is supported by the Government of South Australia.

Pathways
  • On successful completion of assessment requirements, the learner will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the completed units of competency. Students can continue with their primary qualifications or alternatively, complete the full Certificate in FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways.
 
Delivery
  • Program duration varies depending on the number of units of competency an individual student is assigned
  • Delivery involves a combination of face-to-face workshops and online learning

  • FSKNUM008 Use whole numbers and simple fractions, decimals, and percentages for work
  • FSKNUM009 Use familiar and simple metric measurements for work
  • FSKNUM014 Calculate with whole numbers and familiar fractions, decimals, and percentages for work
  • FSKNUM015 Estimate, measure, and calculate with routine metric measurements for work
  • FSKNUM018 Collect data and construct routine tables and graphs for work
  • FSKNUM019 Interpret routine tables, graphs and charts and use information and data for work
  • FSKRDG007 Read and respond to simple workplace information
  • FSKRDG010 Read and respond to routine workplace information
  • FSKWTG006 Write simple workplace texts
  • FSKWTG009 Write routine workplace texts
 
Entry Requirements/Pre-requisites
You must be studying a primary qualification with an RTO and have been identified as requiring bridging units from undertaking the CSPA.
All learners must provide their USI upon enrolment.
All participants of the course must provide 100 points of identification with at least 1 photo identification
