Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program 

Course Overview

FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways
This course is tailored and delivered to students in the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program.
 
The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program offers free training to eligible participants in reading, writing, and numeracy, as well as lessons to improve spoken English and employability skills.
 
This training package has been selected and tailored by SYC to address language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy skills (LLND) as part of SYC’s service delivery model for the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program.
This qualification is designed for individuals who require further foundation skills development to prepare for workforce entry or vocational training pathways. The Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways is suitable for individuals who require reading, writing, oral communication, learning and numeracy skills primarily aligned to Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 3.

    ●  BSBTEC101 Operate digital devices
    ●  BSBTEC203 Research using the internet
    ●  FSKOCM007 Interact effectively with others at work
    ●  FSKLRG010 Use routine strategies for career planning
    ●  BSBPEF202 Plan and apply time management
    ●  FSKWTG009 Write routine workplace texts
    ●  FSKNUM018 Collect data and construct routine tables and graphs for work
    ●  FSKNUM019 Interpret routine tables, graphs and charts and use information and data for work
 
 

Cost

The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
 
 

Delivery

Duration: 12 months, 9:30am – 3:00pm, 3 days per week
Delivery Mode: Blended Learning - 2 days (10 hours) Face-to-Face / Online 1 day (5 hours)
 
 

Entry Requirements/Pre-requisites

To participate in the SEE Program you must be:

    ●  an Australian citizen or
    ●  a permanent visa holder or
    ●  on a provisional or temporary visa with working rights and eligible for the Adult Migrant English Program or
    ●  a Pacific Australian Labour Mobility visa holder 

And be:

    ●  aged 15 years and over, and have left school
    ●  need help with reading, writing, maths, English language and digital skills

Inhouse Student Support

SYC identifies individual support requirements during the initial intake/enrolment process. During your course, your trainer/assessor will provide the identified support based on your requirements. SYC also can provide additional support for language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy skills (LLND) where identified during initial intake process, or throughout the duration your course.
 
Our students are encouraged to seek support and discuss their learning needs and requirements with their trainer and assessor so that the right support strategies are put in place for the best possible learning outcome.
 
As a SEE Program participant, you will be connected with a Participant Support Officer (PSO) within 24 hours of completing a Pre-Training Assessment. Your PSO will support you in feeling confident and comfortable in your learning environment, provide support with study skills and any other assistance you may need.
 
 

Accreditation and Employment Pathways

Accreditation
On successful completion of all assessment requirements, the student will be issued with a Full Certificate in FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways.

Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
 
Employment Pathways
This qualification will support students in obtaining and increasing their ACSF and DLSF levels in language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy skills to gain pathways to employment and further education.
 
 

What will I need?

All course learning resources, equipment and tools used for assessment are provided by SYC and are at no cost to students enrolled in the course.
